On Saturday, May 12th, Central Louisiana letter carriers will again Stamp Out Hunger with the help of residents in our community during the nation’s largest single-day food drive! Just leave a sturdy bag of non-perishable foods next to your mailbox prior to regular mail delivery on Saturday, May 12th. The 5th Annual Joey Giordano “Big Bass Bash” Memorial Fishing Tournament is Saturday, June 2nd at the Colfax Landing on the Red River. This is an Open Team tournament from Safe Daylight to 3 p.m. weigh-in. Fee is $150 per team with a guaranteed $2,000 top prize. This event hosted by family & friends in memory of Joey Giordano. “Louisiana Ride For Kids 2012” will be held Sunday, May 20th in Alexandria benefitting Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. This motorcycle ride begins and ends at the Rapides Parish Coliseum Exhibition Building with registration at 8 a.m. and kickstands up at 10. The Cenla Chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse will host the Annual 100 Mile Ride on Saturday, May 19th. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and Kickstands Up at 10 from Brewzerz on North MacArthur Drive. Ride ends at Port Barre with an after-ride party at the Levee Landing Bar. Registration fee is a $15 donation per bike and $5 for extra rider. All proceeds benefit the Cenla Chapter of B.A.C.A. in their fight to empower abused children to not be afraid of the world in which they live.

“Bikers For Soldiers”… a benefit motorcycle show to help “Wounded Warrior Project” is Saturday, June 9th beginning at 11 a.m. at Certified Transmission on the Monroe Highway in Ball. Entry fee to show your bike is $20 and dinner will be served with all proceeds going to WWP. FREE admission to the public. This is an alcohol free event.
