A group of local runners will be running on behalf of Army Captain John Silk to raise funds for the Wounded Warrior’s Project in the New Orleans Half Marathon , on February 28th. You can help by purchasing a raffle ticket for a chance to win a 14-karat gold Fleur de lis’ pendant, valued at $795, from KP Jewelers. 100% of the proceeds go to the Wounded Warrior’s Project. You may purchase your raffle tickets at Run Wild and at KP Jewelers, both on Jackson Street

Pineville Rebels Baseball presents the 1st Annual “Shootout on the River” shooting contest. Saturday, February 27th from to at the Rapides Parish Sheriff’s Office shooting complex off I-49 at exit 90 (Airbase Road), across the levee. Entry fee is $65 per shooter. There will be food & drinks, door prizes and a gun raffle. Proceeds benefit the Pineville High School baseball team. Bent Knee Bow Hunters of Louisiana, a non-denominational, non-profit Christian ministry to the bow hunting community, will hold an organizational meeting Saturday, February 27th from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Deville Training Center on Hwy. 115 in Deville. The meeting is open to the public and they are taking new members. Lunch will be provided and there will be a bible study afterwards. Bring you bows. Wild Horse Ministries will hold a benefit on Friday & Saturday, March 12th & 13th, at the Lazy 2M Ranch on
McCartney Road
in Olla. Enjoy the music of Brad Mount and the comedy of Eugene Dunn that Friday at 6 p.m. That Saturday begins with a trail ride at , a BBQ plate lunch at followed by an auction.
